What are the 3 steps to activate your PayPal Business Account?

After you’ve signed up for an account, you’ll receive an email in your inbox. Click on the email to confirm that we have your correct email address.

To receive payments from your PayPal Business Account, you’ll need to link your PayPal Business account with a valid bank account owned by you. All you need to do is provide bank details like your Bank Name, Account Number, Bank Code and Branch Code, and make sure the name used for your bank account corresponds to the one used for your PayPal account.

Once you’ve added your valid bank account details, these will need to be verified. Your bank account name must exactly match your business name on your business registration. A PayPal Business account can be verified via a Union PayCard or an international credit card.

1. Union PayCard
   When you add a UnionPay card to your PayPal account for verification, you will receive an SMS verification code to your linked mobile phone number.Enter the verification code when requested on the PayPal screen and your account will be verified, there and then.
2. International credit card
   When you add an international credit card to your PayPal account for verification, PayPal will deduct a small amount of $1.95 USD from the card with an accompanying 4-digit code on your credit card statement. You will need to enter this code to your PayPal account when prompted to complete verification. This can take 2-3 days to process, the $1.95 USD will then be refunded to your PayPal account.
