eBay sellers should note that any eBay for Charity listing they post can be cancelled by eBay upon the request of the benefiting charity. A PayPal Giving Fund registered charity always has the right to request cancellations for any eBay listing that includes their name and/or logo for any or no reason.
The seller will often be provided an explanation of why the item was cancelled, but an explanation is not guaranteed. Sellers whose items are cancelled at the request of the benefiting charity will receive an insertion fee credit from eBay. Item cancelations will not impact feedback score or any other aspect of the seller’s eBay activity.
A charity registered with PayPal Giving Fund should be aware of their right to request a cancelation for any live eBay listing which includes their name and/or logo and is inappropriate for their mission. A cancellation request must be completed for each inappropriate listing by following the instructions on eBay’s help page. Charities should also be aware that requesting an item to be canceled will have an impact on the seller, and should exercise this option with discretion.
